Photos from Double Island near Noosa Australia
These photos are from a weekend camping trip I took with my roomate Chloe and her boyfriend Lauchie who grew up near Noosa. You have to take a ferry to the island and then drive down the beach to get to the peninsula where there are trails leading up to a light house and a beautiful view of the sea and Rainbow Beach. We saw big pods of dolphins, some sea turtles and went body surfing and boogie boarding all weekend.
Kaikoura
Kaikoura is a small little village nestled in between the mountains and the sea on the east coast of the South Island in New Zealand. It is a popular place for tourists to visit and go whale watching or swimming with dolphins and seals. I have a friend from home who has been living there for a year and so I got to meet all the locals and go surfing and camping in the mountains. The surfing was hard and I am not very good at it yet but I had fun simply floating around in the sea and watching dolphins play. Kaikoura is a beautiful and peaceful place.
My Bike Trip in New Zealand!
Over my Easter break from university I took a two week trip to New Zealand. I stayed in Kaikoura for a few days surfing and camping with a friend from home and then decided to take a little bike trip on my own. This was an amazing experience.
My bike trip in New Zealand began in Kaikoura on the South Island. I rented a mountain bike and rode over the Lewis Pass to the west coast, camping and enjoying the numerous hills along the way! I then rode from Murchinson to Charleston by way of the Buller River Gorge which was a beautiful scenic road down the river valley emptying out at the Tasman Sea. From Charleston I rode to Greymouth and then took a bus back to Kaikoura over Arthur's Pass. This was also a beautiful ride through the snow capped peaks and beautiful countryside of New Zealand.
